Despite of how her brain had betrayed her after Melvin asked, Kate not realized she had a million ideas. She'd only managed to mention the holes on the shoulders and hips, based on an outfit she'd seen on the red carpet of the last Met Gala. But then, she'd also remembered how merely some hours ago she had considering embracing more black in her suit, going in for a ninja style. But black was usually a bad choice for sunny, summer days, wasn't it?

Maybe she should just bring photos of Clint's old outfits for inspiration. She was going to spend hours on Pinterest before meeting Melvin again.

In the cab, she had noticed Matt was dozing off, every once in a while he apologized for it. Kate snorted, cupping his cheek and encouraging Matt to lean against her and take a nap if he needed it. Honestly, she was later going to remind him of this if he argued that he didn't need any rest.

If talking to Walter brightened Matt's days, then it certainly made Kate beam to watch those interactions. There was something so endearing about how genuinelly happy Matt was to form a relationship with this man that had watched Kate grow up. Walter welcomed them both warmly, pointing out he was so glad to see Kate in such good company again.

Opening the door of the elevator that welcomed them straight into the penthouse, a golden flash dashed into the small space and bounced around them, barking excitedly. "Hey, bud. I'm sorry you spent the night on your own. I'll give you breakfast in a second, yeah?"

At least Lucky had more space here than in her apartment, so a walk was not at the top of her priorities just yet. She'd guide Matt to one of the guest bedrooms to let him shower first, then fix them all something to eat.

"Careful. We are taking the stairs now," she warned him, guiding Matt's hand to the railing before she encouraged him to take the steps up. Once upstairs, they walked into the fanciest of her guest rooms, sure that he wouldn't have much of a problem with the shower there.

Going through the closet, she handed him a bathrobe. "I'll go get you some shampoo and conditioner and then some clothes, okay? Do you need anything else?"
