Lucky's tail wagged and he happy panted at Kate. He hadn't a clue what was going on, but he was happy to have two of his favorite people around and he figured that Matt wanted to play. He was having the time of his life wandering around and having this human hold onto him to follow. His head tilted and he lovingly licked at Matt's forearm. It melted Matt's heart as much as he huffed out a laugh. He had to admit that there was a chance Lucky hadn't been leading him with any destination in mind and they'd just happened upon Kate. "I told you that I trusted Lucky with my life," Matt said with fond loyalty, letting go of the collar to pet the dog's head. He straightened up. "This just made that a little more literal when we reached the stairs. I thought he'd take me to the kitchen or where you are, but I think he might have just been giving me another grand tour." It had been an adventure, at least. Matt wasn't the sort who did well sitting and waiting, so using Lucky as his guide had felt like the reasonable solution.
Reasonable in a blind man's eyes, at least.
"That was a really nice shower," he added in Kate's direction. He rolled his shoulders, which felt much looser. "I feel a lot better." Amazing what a little rest rather than leaping from one job to another and a warm shower could do. Matt hadn't even realized how truly terrible he'd been feeling until now that he was starting to feel better. He'd been caught in a stress cycle that was really a downward spiral, not even noticing it. Everyone around him had, but he hadn't.
He couldn't tell Kate was carrying anything. He could smell the faint hint of cologne, but that was his only clue that something was going on. Head tilted, his eyebrow raised curiously. "What have you been busy doing?"
