It's just something I've thought a lot about, and you know my mind loves to overthink. Reconciling faith while also disagreeing with parts of how it's interpreted. On a lighter subject, I'll just say I had a lot of fun in college. I think I'm just an animal person in general. I always tried to sneak in pets but had to let them loose. I probably wanted a dog the most as a kid, but I think most kids want dogs.

I wanted a dolphin, too! [The enthusiasm in Matt's voice surprises him, but Kate's brought back delightful memories he'd forgotten.] I hadn't even seen a beach growing up, so being in the ocean with a dolphin sounded amazing. Plus I heard they're really smart, and I wanted a smart pet. I wanted an owl for the same reason - that, and because it made me think I'd then be a wizard like Merlin. [The Sword in the Stone Disney movie had run deep in his youth.]

It can't hurt to give him a heads up. I've been too busy to really stay in touch either, but I wanted to check in on him. I know he's been doing this a long time, but it's rough for everyone right now.

I liked all those legend and folk stories. Heroes and quests. Characters with destinies.

Have you been to the Caribbean before?

I haven't had the chance to travel much. I was broke for most of my life, and working despite that. Now it always just feels like the wrong time to take time for myself.

Yeah, I knew someone who trained in Japan, but her experience there was also very limited. She was allowed outside much. So I just know about temple life and pretty much just that from her.
